From Smart Mobs I was pointed to mobloguk, a new moblog hosting company that offers free service but will provide extra features if you make a donation via PayPal.
for five pounds you get a longer moblog name and the ability to link to your newest image. For ten pounds you get the entire feature set, including linking to a favorite image and a friends list.
Or, you could just sign up with textamerica or buzznet, as examples, and get a full featured moblog for free (at least so far).
Hiya, never posted here before but feel compelled;
So, for added features MoblogUK ask for a donation, this is simply to cover server costs and stuff I imagine, everything they offer including .3gp video and amr audio uploads and hosting is free, and users maintain ownership of all of their own content when they use mobloguk (copyright commons licensing).
he fact that you cede all rights to your image or video content when you usesome moblogs is unsettling to say the least (for me) but for many this is fine as all they will be using it for is as a repository for images etc.
What MoblogUK are doing caters also towards people who want to maintain ownership of their content for future use - you will notice the pointed lack of any advertising too.
Not to denigrate the efforts of others, just to highlight the difference in ethic which drives the MoblogUK provision.
