PC World tested six camera phones and gave its "Editor's Pick" to the Motorola V600. The magazine reported the V600, the Nokia 3660 and the Samsung SGH-E715 took the best photos, but all of them had problems -- "a little noise, blocky colors, overexposed areas, and fuzziness."
PC World liked the LG VX6000 from Verizon Wireless -- as a phone -- but said the photos were the grainiest. I've written before that I like the VX6000 as a nice phone, but the photo quality is mediocre at best. The more I test camera phones, the worse the VX6000 photos look.
The NEC 525 and the Sony Ericsson Z600 have a resolution of only 352 x 288, compared to the VGA (640 x 480) of the other phones mentioned. My recommendation is if you care about image quality, do not purchase any camera phone with less than VGA.
Wait for better camera phones
If you're really serious, wait until the one megapixel phones are available this year.
PC World said all the phones were easy for taking photos, but required ten to 13 clicks to send photos when the e-mail address were already loaded into the contact list.
