A camera phone conference produced by pioneers in electronic commerce and voice over IP is scheduled for April 27 - 30, 2004 in Maui at the Ritz Carlton Kapalua. The cost ranges from $1,690 to $2,540, depending upon the type of package and when you register.
The Cameraphone Summit's organizers are: Moses Ma, game developer, well known e-commerce entrepreneur and venture capitalist at Next Generation Ventures; Jeff Pulver, a world-famous Internet telephony expert who co-founded Vonage, a VoIP magazine and runs conferences; and Mark Resch, a computer software entrepreneur, head of CommerceNet and co-founder of Onomy Labs that creates interactive exhibits.
With it's Hawaii location, the Cameraphone Summit hopes to attract attendees from the United States and Asia. Sponsors include Nokia -- paying for a $1 million hole-in-one golf tournament -- HP, Instream, I3A and MobileMonday.
The start of more conferences?
No schedule is posted yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if you'd see some familiar names as part of the program.
I've been waiting for the start of camera phone conferences and pushing conference groups to develop them. I've been surprised by the lack of events, but perhaps this is the start of other camera phone shows this year.
