From the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association's "Daily News" today I learned that Kodak is expanding its printing kiosks designed for camera phones to Thailand. Kodak, Nokia and Cingular Wireless already are working together to enable camera phone users to transfer and print photos at thousands of Kodak Picture Maker kiosks in the United States, as I wrote in November 2003.
In Thailand, camera phone users will be able to upload their photos via infrared and print sticker-sized images on six-inch sheets, according the "Daily News." (The CTIA found the information from The Nation, but I can't find the correct "Nation" with any article!)
Camera phones are spawning a host of related businesses, and Kodak is combining its online photo services and printing kiosks to serve wireless needs.
Other countries
Kodak also is promoting its wireless features in other countries. In Singapore, Kodak is marketing storage of Nokia camera phone photos on its Web site and suggesting that subscribers use Kodak's online service for printing photos.
Kodak only stores the MMS photos for 30 days and then deletes them. Boo on Kodak!
