In the interests of my faithful readers of this Weblog, I held back the urge to gag at the thought of reading TeenHollywood.com, to bring you the news that actress Drew Barrymore has taken camera phone photos of herself wearing lingerie at Victoria's Secret. She supposedly sent those photos to her boyfriend, Fabrizio Moretti (some sort of drummer, from what I gather) to ask what he thought of the underwear.
TeenHollywood.com reports, "Drew Barrymore stunned shoppers when she took raunchy photographs of herself in sexy underwear."
The article quotes a friend of Barrymore's, saying, "The camera-phone was a birthday gift and she was bursting to try it out. She and a girlfriend were snapping away in Victoria's Secret and were sending the raunchy photos to Fabrizio to see which outfit took his fancy."
An advertising concept in the making?
I think this could be a great advertising idea. A camera phone handset vendor or a cellular operator could pay stars to take camera phone photos of themselves wearing lingerie. This could be an ongoing advertising campaign with the slogan: "Sprint PCS shows you what I'm wearing under my clothes!"
I'm sure the readers of TeenHollywood.com would love it.
Perhaps radio personality Howard Stern could suggest this idea to Clear Channel Communications
A serious suggestion
Actually, it might not be a bad idea (in all seriousness!) for a handset vendor or operator to pay a celebrity to take camera phone photos (of more than just lingerie!) for advertising purposes. It couldn't be any worse than what Catherine Zeta-Jones does for T-Mobile!
(Does anyone really care what Zeta-Jones says about cellular phones?)
