A few days after I started Camera Phone Report on October 31, 2003, I was the number one listing for "camera phone" on Google. Since then my rank varies from the first to second page of listings. Today I just checked and I'm No. 1 again.
I guess that's pretty good, considering how companies spend a lot of time and money trying to optimize their sites for a high ranking. I've done, well, nothing except to write.
I'm No. 2 on Yahoo. (I believe Yahoo has replaced Google with its own search engine.)
Advertising possibilities
I wonder if any companies would be interested in advertising on this Weblog.
Don't do it. The beauty of your blog is that it is beholden to no-one. Earning money is for the day job.

I'm sure there will be some companies interested but how would you give them exposure? big flashing banners (please don't)... I wouldn't make it too big anyway.
Would be nice to have a weekly wrap of what you've written. Ask the subscribers to your newsletters for a little extra information and I'm pretty sure you could get sponsoring for a newsletter with a clear target audience.
