Japan Corporate News Network reports that the world's thinnest camera phone will be released in Japan on March 12. The TK41 (see below) from the TU-KA Group is 48 mm x 92 mm x 18.8 mm (1.88" x 3.62" x .74") and weighs 89 grams (3.13 ounces).
The handset features a two-inch TFT LCD, a 4x digital zoom and WAP 2.0.
The press release, in Japanese, is on the Tu-Ka Group site. I can't read Japanese, alas, but I saw the word "EZweb" in the release. "EZweb" is the wireless Internet service from the Japanese cellular operator KDDI so I assume KDDI will be selling the phone.
(I wish I had more consulting work or was invited to speak more often in Japan. I don't get there often enough and there's so much to learn.)
