The Herald Sun heralds the introduction of the first one megapixel camera phone -- the Sharp GX30 from Vodafone -- in Australia.
The GX30 costs $899 in Australia ($665 U.S.). The reviewer likes the phone, but writes that there is an "interminable wait to connect to WAP Internet services." I assume that's slow-as-molasses GSM GPRS.
By the end of this year, one megapixel camera phones will be old news in many countries. But for now, it's newsworthy. Indeed, I'm waiting for the first public announcement of the availability of the first one megapixel camera phone in the United States.
