The article begins, "Remember that phrase 'Smile, you're on Candid Camera?'
"Well today, it's 'Smile, you're on candid camera-phone.' But after you see what people are doing with these camera-phones, smiling may be the last thing you want to do."
Bad versus good
The article doesn't report anything new -- certainly no news if you read Camera Phone Report! It's just one more article that emphasizes the bad aspects of camera phones rather than the good.
It's also just one more indication that the wireless industry has done a pathetically poor (incompetent) job of marketing the positive aspects of camera phones. It seems as if the heads of marketing, public relations and advertising are clueless about how to help counter negative publicity.
