Kodak is establishing its Picture Maker photo printing kiosks, equipped with Bluetooth and infrared for uploading camera phone photos, in Nokia's retail stores in Europe, reports the International Herald Tribune. The kiosks are being installed in Germany, France, Spain, the U.K. and the Netherlands.
Kodak also is testing the kiosks in other retail stores, such as the Carphone Warehouse and Orange stores, the article says. The kiosks also could be installed in public locations such as train stations.
The cost of each print is .29 Euros ($.35) or .50 Euros ($.60), depending upon the country and the retail location.
WiFi next?
It's possible that Kodak might add WiFi and expand the type of devices that could send photos to the kiosks, the newspaper reports.
Wow, Alan, it may have been only a typo but it's brilliant! Install the kiosks in a ski lodge and you have skiosks! Instant prints over a beer!
