Strong demand for camera phones has boosted Sony Ericsson's profits for the second quarter, reports Reuters and the company's press release. The company generated pre-tax profits of $139.8 million.
Sony Ericsson shipped 10.4 million handsets, an increase of 55 percent compared to the same quarter last year.
Sony Ericsson increased its predictions for the global handset market this year from 550 million to 600 million.
The company also introduced two EDGE camera phones (see next article.)
