Nokia is sponsoring a contest asking for the No. 1 reason for using a Nokia camera phone (see below).
I'm not sure whether this is old news; I just found it while perusing the Mobile Imaging section of Nokia's Web site. (I've been practically begging companies in the camera phone business to add or substantially beef up a wireless imaging Web section, but many companies just don't seem to think it makes sense to provide information to consumers and/or businesses in order to stimulate sales.)
The Nokia "1001 reasons for using a Nokia Imaging phone" contest is open to anyone who lives in a country that has offered commercial GSM service on or before January 1, 2004. I guess Japanese and South Korean residents can't enter!
Update: Tom Karches points out in his comment that U.S. GSM subscribers aren't able to enter the contest. Shame on me for not immediately thinking about that!
No U.S. GSM cellular operator offers the Nokia 7610. However, if an operator introduces the handset before the contest deadline, perhaps Americans will be able to enter, too.
Prize is Nokia 7610
Nokia is awarding two Nokia 7610 camera phones. The rules stipulate that winners who live in a country where the 7610 isn't available will receive another Nokia camera phone.
Hmmm -- so if your GSM operator doesn't yet offer the 7610, you can't get it even if it will be available in the future? That seems a shame.
You may only apply online. The contest runs until September 19, 2004 and the winners will be announced and notified on September 27.
That's too bad, I actually have a Nokia 7610 (probably one of the few in Washington). Using it on T-Mobile. But I'm really not surprised; most contests on nokia.com exclude the U.S. market.

Looks like those that live in the US can't enter...try selecting "America" or "United States" from the country popup....not there....and entry is invalid without the country specified.
