An article in Telecoms Korea reports the South Korean handset vendor Pantech & Curitel will supply a VGA camera phone, CDM-8910, to Verizon Wireless.
I assume it's a VGA handset since the chart shows "CMOS 330,000." The chart also shows the camera phone includes a flash, a 4x digital zoom, a 65K color main screen, a monochrome external screen and a speaker phone.
The chart also says "USB" and "PC Sync" so perhaps users will be able to transfer photos and other information from their handset to a computer, rather than being forced to send photos only via the cellular network.
Here are more specifications from phone scoop, although the specs might be different for the Verizon version.
What's in a name?
Pantech & Curitel also provides a 1.3 megapixel camera -- PM-8920 -- to Sprint PCS, as I've discussed previously.
The Sprint phone is branded an Audiovox product, but Audiovox is only the distributor. Verizon, too, might call the phone Audiovox.
Yeah it looks like it's already branded with Audiovox you can find reviews up all over the internet on it. I will pass on this one. I've fell in to the trap twice with Audiovox branded phones already imo they're on the way out. They always seem to pump out stuff as soon as new technology is around but most of the stuff I've seen from them is below par with other products like LG or Samsung.
