Il-Hyung Chang, senior vice president of Samsung, says the company is on track to overtake Motorola as the world's No. 2 supplier of cellular phones, right behind Nokia, according to an article in Forbes.
He says, "...Samsung's global market share in mobile phones sooner or later will become the second. I'm not quite sure about when it will be, but very soon."
Market research International Data Corp. says Samsung's worldwide market share is 13.9 percent compared to Motorola's 14.7 percent and Nokia's 27.7 percent.
Higher end market
Samsung focuses on the higher end market [and that means lots of camera phones], says Chang.
