The Daily Californian interviews University of California-Berkeley journalism students who are moblogging the Republican National Convention in New York using a textamerica-based moblog sponsored by Cingular Wireless (see below), as I originally discussed in July.
Chris Young, one of the Berkeley mobloggers, says in the article, "We are just trying to find the stories that the mainstream media won’t find, and to get a different audience. It is just a series of quick hits and montages."
Cingular provides the students with a Motorola V400 camera phone and airtime was well as airfare, hotels, meals and a stipend for reporting.
