From The Register I learned of an a September 13 article in DigiTimes that reports "sources" say High Tech Computer (HTC) this month will begin shipping the palmOne Treo 650 that will be available for consumers in October.
HTC, headquartered in Taiwan, developed the Handspring (now palmOne) Treo 600. The company declined to comment on the report it would begin shipping the next generation Treo 650.
As I wrote last month, the Treo 650 is rumored to feature a 1.2 megapixel camera (compared to the Treo 600's VGA camera), a mirror next to the lens for aiding in taking self portraits, Bluetooth, a higher resolution screen of 320 x 320 (compared to the Treo 600's 160 x 160 screen), a faster 312MHz ARM microprocessor (compred to the Treo 600's 144MHz processor), 32MB of RAM (same as Treo 600), a removable battery, digital zoom, video recording, Palm OS 5.4 (compared to the Treo 600's 5.2.1), improved Web browser and a larger speaker.
A great Weblog for the Treo is Treonauts, that includes a great deal of information about the rumored 650.
