LG Mobile Phones today announced the launch of its clamshell-shaped L1400 VGA camera phone for Cingular Wireless, according to the press release. I had thought this was available since late August, but perhaps I'm mistaken. The L1400 is available for free with a two-year contract.
The handset includes two displays, with the OLED external screen featuring photo caller ID that displays the photo of the person calling (or any photo selected). The L1400 also includes GPRS support, Java, a 4x digital zoom and the ability to quickly take nine photos in a row.
I don't see any mention of infrared, Bluetooth or a memory card for transferring photos to a computer. Cingular offers a data connection kit, but it might be just for using the handset as a modem, not for transferring files.
I can't even get it to email photos. The only choice for graphics are the stupid EMS b/w graphics that come with it. How do you email photos?

The LGl400 will not download through the infrared to a computer. Its very disappointing. It has no software though you can use the lg1100 for uploading the phonebook to the computer. Why would you bother having a camera phone that the only way to get the pictures off is to email them and sometimes that doesn't work so great either.
