Six Apart, the creator of Weblog software MovableType and the TypePad Weblog hosting service (used by this Weblog), is working with Nokia to make TypePad compatible with Nokia's Lifeblog software (see below), according to a press release.
The Lifeblog-compatible feature on TypePad will be available early in 2005 and is based upon the open ATOM standard.
I've written before that Lifeblog software can store a wide variety of messages -- SMS, MMS,videos, e-mail -- in a computer and on a handset. A subset of the information is stored on the handset.
Lifeblog automatically creates timelines to organize the information by day and time. Nokia offers a free beta version of the software on its Web site for use in computers.
Availability
Lifeblog is included on Nokia's new 1.3 megapixel camera phone, the Nokia 7610 (I just got one to test. More about that later) and will be available for other Series 60 phones. The commercial version of the software will be released this fall.
TypePad will demonstrate the software at DEMOmobile 2004, that's occurring now in La Jolla, Calif.
