A U.K. candidate running for Parliament was dropped from the list of approved candidates after camera phone photos were published of him posing with a hunting knife and guns, including an AK-47 assault rifle, according to an article in the Guardian.
Robert Oulds, a Tory "law and order" MP candidate from Slough, posed with the weapons when he was in the home of a member of a Conservative group. The weapons are owned by the member, not Oulds.
Oulds forwarded camera phone photos to friends, one of whom posted the photos on Web site.
Error of judgment
Andrew Mackay, the deputy party chairman who is responsible for candidates said, "This was a serious error of judgment which was unacceptable in a parliamentary candidate. We have had no choice but to remove him from the list."
The BBC writes that a national newspaper reported there were 11 photos of Oulds with the weapons.
