The Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association's (CTIA) Wireless 2005 conference in New Orleans in March is not only the U.S. conference for the wireless industry but also filled with camera phone events this year.
There are at least three camera phone-related activities and, not coincidentally, I'm involved in all three. They are:
1. Wireless Data University (WDU), March 13, 2005: Wireless data consultant Andy Seybold and I founded WDU more than eight years ago to conduct day-long wireless data tutorials the day before the two major CTIA conference.
As I have done for the past several WDUs, I'll be conducting a three-hour tutorial about the camera phone marketplace. My tutorial, "Analyzing Business Opportunities in the Global Camera Phone Ecosystem," will be held in the afternoon, 1:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
2. CTIA panel - "Consumer-Friendly Photo Messaging," March 14, 2005: I'm moderating this 90-minute panel during the main CTIA conference. Panelists include the senior vice president for Kodak Mobile Services and the senior director of the "create & share product category" at Motorola.
3. Future Image - Mobile Imaging Perspectives, March 15, 2005: I'm moderating two panels during this day-long event. Future Image is a consulting and conference group specializes in camera phones and it produces great camera phone conferences.
I'll be providing more information soon about Mobile Imaging Perspectives.
