SFR, the second largest cellular operator in France, today announced it will switch its existing online photo album service to Kodak Mobile's.
The Kodak Mobile service will be available to SFR subscribers in May and photos stored in the current SFT Album Photo offering will be transferred to Kodak's.
SFR customers with MMS or WAP capability on their handsets will be able to use the co-branded SFR/Kodak Mobile service.
Printing photos is the money-maker
Kodak offers photo album storage with basic online photo editing capabilities. Prints of photos also may be ordered, that is the real reason for the service.
Photos may be ordered via the Web site or directly from a cellular phone.
SFR on December 31, 2004 had 15.8 million subscribers and 35.5 percent of the market in France. Its revenues in 2004 were 7.2 billion euros.
