This is a sign-of-the-times announcement: Nokia has made its first appearance at the Photo Marketing Association Internationa'l's annual conference, occurring in Orlando, according to the company's press release.
Nokia is showing its 6682, a 1.3 megapixel camera phone with an LED flash, a 6x digital zoom, a rapid-fire feature, a self-timer and white balance and color adjustment capabilities.
In the press release, David Watkins, director of imaging for Nokia, says "When Nokia took the industry's first steps toward mobile imaging in 1998, few people could have predicted that in less than a decade the camera phone market would grow larger than the conventional digital camera market, yet that is where we stand today."
Nokia is sells more cameras -- if you count camera phones as cameras -- than any traditional camera manufacturer and camera phones in general are outselling both film and digital cameras.
