TransChip has introduced the TC7040 CMOS camera phone module, according the company’s press release.
The module “offers a number of enhancements in lighting sensitivity, including lower dark current noise and lower cross talk. It also has increased sensitivity to blue hues, as well as new radial anti-shading,” says the release.
“The embedded, fully programmable image signal processor (ISP) in AlgoCam TC7040 performs automatic adjustments based on external lighting conditions and delivers necessary image enhancements.
“In addition, AlgoCam TC7040 provides built-in support for the latest auto-focus and zoom lenses, enabling the highest level of photographic quality and the sharpest images for both close-up and panoramic images. The imager controls the auto-focus and zoom drivers directly, providing a close-loop solution.”
APIs
The company says the module is the only two-megapixel camera phone image to include a high-level API (Application Program Interface) that facilitates developing camera phone applications.
