Josh Rubin, a wireless consultant who has worked for several well known mobile and Internet companies, writes in “Cool Hunting” about a unique Orange retail store in the U.K. that posts photos from camera phones (see below).
The Orange store in Notting Hill is designed to provide a superior customer experience. Sales people aren’t paid on commission and customers are encouraged to return often to learn how to use their phone, Rubin says.
I think it’s a great idea for cellular stores to post camera phone photos. I know that many cellular operators are looking at ways to provide a better customer experience (and increase sales!) at their stores.
U.S. cellular operators have opened concept stores and are redesigning commercial stores. I haven’t seen stores with camera phone photos but, of course, many handset vendors have been working with operators to post photos taken by customers as well as by professional photographers.
