I'm flying all day (on a plane waiting to take off right now) and don't have time to post much, but check out picturephoning.com's (http://www.textually.org/picturephoning) articles.
Today Emily writes about:
* Camera phones are used to display photos for a dating service. Awful name of the service: "Incredibllnc!"
* A Hong Kong man on a bus was filmed with a camera phone when he began screaming at a man who tapped him on the shoulder because he was talking loudly on his cellular phone.
Another passenger filmed the man yelling and shouting obscenities.
The video is on YouTube.com and it has been downloaded more than one million times.
This is one more example of how camera phones are increasingly being used to document abuses of all types.
* Camera phone photos have provided U.K. police with clues in a bank robbery. Another instance of how camera phones are used in crime situations.
This type of application will only increase as more people photograph and video record illegal activities. I have written before that I'm waiting -- not happily -- for a camera phone user to get seriously injured, killed or or jailed while documenting an abuse, whether it's a criminal activity, a military action or an abuse of police powers.
