Sprint has quietly launched a new monthly Picture Mail newsletter (see below) that features tips for camera phone use and marketing information for current and potential customers.
July 2006 was the first issue and if you haven't received it you probably can't get it now. Sprint is skipping August, but the newsletter will begin monthly with the September issue.
The July issue features articles on: Uploading, storing and printing camera phone photos, creative ways to use camera phones, using photos for producing U.S. stamps (that's something I want to do, although it isn't cheap), a free offer of 40 camera phone 4" x 6" prints and an advertisement for the LG Fusic (that I haven't tested).
Signing up
If you want to sign up there's a Web page for existing Sprint customers (see below) as well as non-customers.
The sign-up page for people who aren't Sprint customers features a "Summer Clicks Giveaway" to win a Motorola i850 or LG Fusic camera phone (see below).
The page also allows you to customize the newsletter to receive information about such topics as "Web, messaging, ring tones, games and applications," "NFL-related mobile products and promotions," "Sprint solutions for business" and NASCAR-related information.
Disclosures
Two disclosures: 1. As I've written many times, I'm part of Sprint's Ambassador Program where I get to test a Samsung phone for six months and 2. I expect to be doing some consulting work for Sprint but I can't discuss it right now, although I hope to be able to do so very soon. (No, I won't be working on the Picture Mail newsletter.)
Do any other cellular operators offer camera phone newsletters? I'd cetainly like to know and promote those publications.
And if anyone knows of any mobile TV newsletters from cellular operators I'd like to know about that, too.
