Business Week's review (http://www.businessweek.com/technology/content/sep2006/tc20060907_570430.htm?chan=top+news_top+news+index) of Research in Motion's (RIM) multimedia camera phone nicknamed "Pearl" gives high marks for its typical business applications but not a good score for the multimedia capabilities are designed to appeal to consumers.
The article doesn't trash the handset's 1.3 megapixel camera, saying it "compares favorably with those on most high-end handsets." However, the handset doesn't incorporate any type of photo sharing applications that are beginning to appear on camera phones, Business Week says.
The media player for playing music files "is ugly, with an antiquated system for loading music....The software lacks such basic features as playlists and shuffle and doesn't integrate with iTunes or other such systems," the article says.
