According to Ars Technica, the Apple equipment repair company iResQ (see above) will remove the camera from your Apple iPhone for $100.
Why on earth would you want to do that?
Security. If your company allows cellular phones but prohibits phones with cameras, removing the camera from your iPhone might allow you to take the phone to work -- assuming you're willing to eliminate the camera to do so.
One possible problem, even if you're willing to allow your iPhone to suffer this indignity: Your company might not believe you. One commenter to the Ars Technica article says Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory -- that is involved in top secret nuclear research (among other things) -- requires that the Laboratory's staff remove cameras, such as those in portable computers.
