A camera phone photo has helped capture William Johnson, a suspected arsonist and burglar in Florida, according to an article in The Ledger.
The article says seven witnesses saw a man with a gas can running away from a house in North Lakeland, Fla., and the house began burning shortly thereafter. A police deputy was able to capture and arrest Johnson soon after the incident, according to the sheriff’s spokeswoman, Elizabeth Smokay.
Smokay says the police “were able to find him so quickly because one of the witnesses was able to photograph the suspect's vehicle.”
As increasing numbers of cellular users have camera phones, the use of camera phone photos for security purposes is becoming increasingly common.
