I’m at BWI Airport waiting for my flight to Newark to fly to Madrid and then to Barcelona for the Mobile World Congress. Walking to my gate, I looked at the Brookstone store, and noticed an interesting product (to me, at least).
It’s a $50 wallet that includes 1.4–inch LCD for viewing photos (see above; taken with BlackBerry Curve 8320 two megapixel camera). The LCD has a few simple controls, mostly forward and back, and a rechargeable battery via a computer USB port.
Years ago, when I first began looking at camera phones, I told people (and wrote) that the camera phone would be the new “wallet” for storing your photos. Instead of taking out your wallet, you’d take out your phone.
That certainly has come to pass. And it’s not just photos, it’s videos, too.
I guess you could consider the “My Life: Digital Photo Wallet” as retro!
This product sucks. I have the wallet and the Cable but can not find the appropriate software anywhere to use it.

My wife got me one of these for Christmas. As long as you don't have ANY credit cards or don't put in any money, it's fine as far as thickness. The problem is the thing is so fat after credit cards are put in, it's like sitting on a brick. I ended up taking out the insert that holds the picture viewer altogether. Still makes for a nice wallet...

I was just thinking a future iPhone or whatever ends up being hot will have a compartment for the few pieces of plastic or paper we still need to carry, if any, someday (probably soon). I don't think it will be the other way around as it is with this contraption, but it sure is interesting to see something like this!
