It’s a photo I took with a Research in Motion (RIM) BlackBerry Pearl 8120 of a heart-shaped sculpture on Union Street in San Francisco (see below). I took the photo when I was in the city last fall to attend the CTIA’s Wireless I.T. & Entertainment 2007 conference.
The Union Street area, with its numerous shops and restaurants, is a favorite place for wandering when I’m in San Francisco, my favorite city in the United States. The Schmap Guide identified the sculpture as part of the Union Street Art Festival.
Second photo of mine in Schmap
I didn’t know the festival was going on — or had occurred. I just liked the sculpture and, as is my wont, shot numerous images. I post some of my best camera phone images on my Flickr camera phone album, which is where Schmap found it.
This is the second time Schmap picked a photo I took with a BlackBerry. As I previously wrote, the first was a photo of a sculpture in the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, Va.
For both photos, I didn’t submit them to Schmap. Schmap saw them on Flickr, e-mailed me that the image was under consideration for being included in the guide and asked if I would give my permission to use the photos if they were selected. Obviously, I gave my permission.
